Pakistan's ambassador to China Masood Khan on Sunday said that the stability of China and Pakistan are interconnected, as both the countries believe in peace and stability of the region.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said there is an immense potential of cooperation between China and Pakistan in economic, trade, defence and education sectors. The people and government of China have repeated many times that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan should be respected. The root cause of terrorism is deprivation and poverty. Eradication of poverty can help eliminate the menace of terrorism.
Masood maintained that relations between China and Pakistan are not confined to the government level but the people of both the countries also respect each other.
Masood said Pakistan is used to receiving aggressive statements from Indian government but the Indian leaders especially its military generals have been issuing hostile statements against China as well since the present Congress government came to power in India. "China is a major global power and I think it can tackle India easily," he remarked.
Responding to a question he said that there is a general resentment among the Chinese think tanks over Indian aggressive statements despite Beijing efforts for developing good relations with New Delhi.
He said that Pakistan's relations with China saw great warmth in already cordial relations. He maintained that both the countries share each other's point of view on various regional and international issues. The ambassador said Pakistan should import agricultural technology and learn water conservation techniques from China, which has made a tremendous progress in agriculture sector.
Similarly efforts are underway to benefit from development China has made in construction and mining sectors.
To a question of possibilities of getting education in China he said that 500 Pakistani student are getting medical education in Urumqi, while the total number of students getting education in the brotherly country is 5000.
The Chinese Universities are offering all major courses at lower fees, as compared to Western universities. He urged the students to focus on China for higher studies. He also urged the students to learn about the Chinese culture and traditions.
