One is on a high after a match-turning catch, the other trying to forget a howler that could cost him his spot in the team. The wicketkeepers highlighted during second Test at the SCG how influential the men with gloves can be when Australia beat Pakistan by 36 runs. But they remain a fraternal lot, as Australia's Brad Haddin hopes his counterpart Kamran Akmal will play in third Test in Hobart, which starts on Thursday.
Haddin on Monday sympathised with Kamran and hoped he would play, either as wicketkeeper or specialist batsman. "I just hope he gets opportunity to play because he's a good person," Haddin said. "We've all had those days and it feels just like quicksand. "It feels like you can't fight your way out of it, but it's a new Test match and it gives you a couple of days to get away from the game and have a think about what happened. He's played 50 Tests, so he's a quality international cricketer and I would be surprised if he didn't come out all guns blazing in this Test match."
While Haddin is qualified to discuss that sinking feeling Kamran faces, the Australian stumper is coming off one of his best games after he took nine catches at the SCG, among them a one-hander down legside off Salman Butt which turned the game his side's way.
