Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday decided that Pakistan Under-21 Cricket Team will participate in the 11th South Asian Games scheduled in Bangladesh in February this year. The decision was taken after a meeting between Chairman PCB Ejaz Butt and President Pakistan Olympic Association Lieutenant General Arif Hassan (Retd) in Lahore.
Various other matters also came under discussion during the meeting, sources said, adding, the squad of Under-21 Cricket Team will be announced shortly. Moreover, the election for departmental representative to the Governing Board PCB was held at National Cricket Academy under the supervision of Abdul Sami Khan, Election Commissioner PCB.
After secret balloting, Naveed Akram Cheema, representing Wapda has been declared as elected departmental representative to the Governing Board of PCB. He defeated Shoaib Muhammad of PIA in the secret ballot participated by Shoaib Muhammad (PIA), Tariq Azhar (HBL), Muhammad Jamil (NBP), Masood Anwar (ZTBL), Naveed Akram Cheema (WAPDA), Saadat Ali Khan (SNGPL) and Rashid Iqbal of KRL. Naveed Akram Cheema will fill the position vacated by Abdul Raquib and represent all departments on the PCB Governing Board.
