Sargodha Police will submit the challan of five US nationals before Anti-Terrorism Court Sargodha on January 18 (Monday) who were trying to link up with Islamist militant groups. They will be charge sheeted within a week, a court official said.
Head of Joint investigation Team/DPO Dr Usman Anwar told newsmen that five US nationals would be tried on the charges of trying to contact al Qaeda-linked organisations and engage in militant activities. The men, who are all US citizens with dual nationality, including two Pakistani-Americans, have been questioned by the FBI and Pakistani officials since their arrest last week in the eastern town of Sargodha.
The United States has allowed appointing counsellors for the five US origin terror suspects. Security has been increased around the district Jail Sargodha where these five US nationals were detained.
