The Karachi Port handled 321,211 tonnes of liquid import cargo including 223,113 tonnes of import 98,098 tonnes of export cargo and 3,194 loaded and empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 223,113 tonnes comprised of 42,429 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,809 tonnes of bulk cargo; 48,016 tonnes of coal; 3,681 tonnes of MAP and 126,178 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 98,098 tonnes comprised of 46,433 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,330 tonnes of bulk cargo; 20,449 tonnes of cement; 24,700 tonnes of clinker and 4,186 tonnes of talc powder. Fourteen ships namely YM Asia, APL Guangzhou, Kota Hakim, OEL Shreyas, Ninos, Seaways Venture, Samin-1, Calmy Coral, Al-Marwah, Century Ace, Glory Tellus, BSLE Princess, Union Anna and Quetta sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Twelve vessels viz Adriatic Arrow, Power Ranger, APL Guangzhou, OEL Shreyas, Ninos, Bunga Raya Satu, Seaways Venture, Anke, Union Anna, Mustafa H, Wehr Nienstedten and Quetta are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Adriatic Arrow, APL Pusan and Anke expected to sail on Monday. Four vessels viz APL Pusan, Sima Sahba, Ocean Island and Olympia due to arrive on Monday, while four ships namely Arnis, Praia, Carmencita and Fade-1 are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The total export cargo of 13,246 tonnes includes 1,030 tonnes of rice; 1,428 tonnes of cement and 10,788 tonnes of containerised cargo. Container vessel MSC Sarawak and chemicals carrier Gaschem Nordees sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another container vessel Maersk Georgia is expected to sail on Monday afternoon.
Eight vessels viz CV Maersk Georgia, CV MSC Sarawak, MV Zenobia, MV Leopard-B, MT Al-Anbariah, MT Gaschem Nordees, MT ST Kitts and MV Mara are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, furnace oil, chemicals, LPG and coal respectively during last 24 hours.
A total number of three ships namely Al-Sabahia, Antartic and Malvern carrying containers and LPG respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. Two vessels viz CV Al-Sabahia and MT Malvern carrying containers and LPG are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday.
Three ships namely CV Nedlloyed Asia, MT Royal Emerald and MT Chemstar King with containers and palm oil due to arrive on Tuesday, while three more vessels viz CV ACX Salvia, CV CMA CGM Onyx and MT Al-Soor-II are due to arrive on Wednesday. Five ships namely HS Beethven, Lahore Express, Hanjin Los Angels, Pacific Pioneer and Orient carrying containers, iron ore and cement are also due to arrive.
