Development work of highways: officials instructed to ensure early completion

Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan has made a visit from Lahore to Sahiwal (N-5), inspected ongoing beautification work of national highways, like plantation and fence cuttings and instructed the concerned officials to ensure early completion of development and beautification work of the highway.
He directed that shady trees and flowery plants may also be planted along the sides of national highways so that travellers may experience a pleasant journey. While talking to officials on this occasion, he said that the present democratic government, under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, is determined to provide relief to the masses in every sector of life and change the destiny of our nation. He further said that the Ministry of Communications, in this respect, has planned to lay down a network of highways throughout the country to facilitate trade, tourism, industry and agriculture.
