The Lahore High Court issued notice for January 22 to Regional Police Officer (RPO) Gujranwala in a contempt petition filed by one Muhammad Amine against SHO police station Wandu. The petitioner contended that the court had issued stay orders in a land dispute matter. The respondent SHO even after showing him court orders got vacated the land from his possession.
SHO said RPO had directed him to get vacate the land and hence forced him to vacate the land. He, therefore, prayed to the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the respondent for ignoring the court orders. The court after hearing the petitioner counsel issued notice to RPO Gujrnawala and directed him to appear in person on next date of hearing.
