Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa)'s revenue wing has recovered Rs 4 million outstanding dues and disconnected 500 defaulter's water connection during the last four days of recovery campaign. According to a Wasa's spokesman here on Wednesday, the Wasa MD was instructed to file a case in the concerned police station against the defaulters who illegally reconnect the water connection.
They have requested the police to assist them during the recovery campaign. "Those who complain of not receiving the bill, the recovery team would provide them with a copy of it to be deposited at the earliest and a copy its receipt should be provided to them. No staff of Wasa is authorised to receive cash against the bill and a strict action would be taken against those found receiving cash," he added.
