Converting playground into vehicles stand: LHC issues notice to chief secretary Punjab

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notice to Chief Secretary Punjab for January 25 in a petition filed by Punjab University against converting its play ground in to vehicles stand. It has been contended that the university playground was allotted since 1920 and was used as playground only.
But respondent Punjab government has converted the ground in to vehicle stand illegally and without lawful authority for the vehicles of civil secretariat staff. It has therefore, been prayed in the petition to direct the respondent police to get vacate the play ground and restrained the respondent government from using its for any other purpose illegally. The court after hearing the university counsel at length issued notices to the respondents for next date of hearing.
