Affiliation of FJMC with UHS: Secretary Health directed to apprise LHC CJ of reasons

The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice here Thursday directed Secretary Health Punjab to apprise about the reasons which compelled the government to affiliate Fatima Jinnah Medical College (FJMC) with University of Health Sciences (UHS).
The bench observed, "we want to know the reasons and circumstances under which the government affiliated a renowned institution in Asia, named after Madar-e-Millat Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, with a university which had not even its own premises in place of Punjab University, a historical institution in the region." UHS, FJMC and PU through their counsels filed their written contentions in the court. A large number of FJMC's students attended the proceedings.
