On the one hand the Indians are singing melodious songs of Aman ki Asha and friendship. But on other hand, the Indians are creating a hype on the LoC with allegations of infiltration and attacks across the Line of Control. On January 18, the Indians resorted to unprovoked firing from across the Sialkot sector.
On one side they are desirous of opening borders, starting business and demand a safe route for Afghanistan through Pakistan and on the other side, India's civil and military leaders indulge in high-pitched sabre-rattling. Recently, the Indian army Chief General Deepak Kapoor boasted of being capable of militarily forcing Pakistan and China to kneel down within 96 hours.
The Indian authors, columnists and TV anchors talk of starting a peace process with Pakistan, but at the same time they leave no stone unturned in charge-sheeting Pakistan for its 'involvement' in the Mumbai incident, while the trial of Ajmal Kasab has taken many turn, that speak of not enough evidence.
The Indian psychological war experts are busy in injecting the idea that India is not the real enemy of Pakistan, but the US and West are the real enemy. Indians avail every chance to propagate against Pakistan on the international and diplomatic front. They have never opted to resolve the Kashmir, Siachen, Sir Creek or water issues. Instead they are fuelling insurgencies in Balochistan and in NWFP.
Is it their 'asha for aman' or just a ploy to engage Pakistan on the sideline of their preparations for war and sabre-rattling? By resorting to firing at the LoC and Indians seem to be heading towards their well-thought-out designs, which the regional experts foresee. Indians bid is to divert Pakistan army's attention from the western border and to divide its concentration from the West to east for implementing its nefarious designs. Aren't we aware? Is the world not looking at it?
