Senior Provincial Minister Raja Riaz Ahmed inspected sites of four small dams in Chakwal district and directed engineers of irrigation department to complete them within one year. He said that Durabi Dam, Uthwal Lakhwal Dam, Mundi Dam and Dhoke Jhang Dam being built at a cost of Rs 972 million will dawn a new era of agriculture development and prosperity in Chakwal district.
Riaz said President Asif Ali Zardari has been taking keen interest in increasing the availability of irrigation and drinking water for our future generations. He said inauguration of Ghambeer Dam is also a good omen as the people would soon get their benefits when the new dams fetch bumper crops in this rain fed area.
