Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Saturday said that the judiciary does not recognise any doctrine except rule of law and supremacy of the constitution. Addressing 12th Roll signing ceremony of newly enrolled advocates of the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice said that it is duty of the government to make arrangements for access to justice and judiciary is bound to play its role in this regard.
Rule of law is the only difference between barbarism and civilised societies and courts are bound to do justice according to the law, he said. The judiciary would not disappoint the people of Pakistan and will make every effort for easy access and quick dispensation of justice, he added.
Recalling lawyers' movement for reinstatement of judiciary during last two years, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that civil society and the legal fraternity had one slogan 'rule of law.' The CJ urged the legal fraternity to play its role for establishing rule of law in the society as well.
Addressing the newly enrolled Advocates of Supreme Court, he said that it is matter of great honour for them because they have achieved their enrolment in the Supreme Court on merit due to their dedication, selflessness, diligence and commitment towards their profession.
The Chief Justice urged the newly enrolled Advocates of Supreme Court that by taking the benefits of their skills, profession, they must advance the cause of Rule of Law. Earlier, Additional Registrar, Supreme Court of Pakistan welcomed newly enrolled Advocates of Supreme Court and conducted the proceeding of the Ceremony.
