Chief Minister NWFP Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said on Saturday that the people would soon hear good news about renaming of the Frontier province and provincial autonomy. Addressing a public meeting at Sports Complex Mardan after inaugurating five mega projects.
The Chief Minister said amendments in the constitution were on the card and expressed the confidence that the renaming of the province and provincial autonomy of the province as enshrined in the 1973 constitution is expected shortly. He reiterated that the Kalabagh dam project had been shelved once for all and it was a closed chapter now. About the terror war, Hoti said.
"We have to won this war at any cost as we can not leave the future of our nation and children at the mercy of the terrorists. We have to show to the world that Pukhtoons never accept defeat," he maintained. The followers of Baacha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan could not sit idle over the killing of the Pukhtoons. they had paid a lot in this war and ready to pay more, he said, adding, it was not the war of Pukhtoons' only but the entire world and the world community should support them and their efforts.
However, he made it clear that despite insurgency, the process of development would not be hampered as their development war was not limited to a specific area and instead going on unabated in whole of the province. The Chief Minister on this occasion announced construction of Takht Bhai by pass road.
