Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has made a significant investment amounting to Rs 4.13 billion for the upgradation of system during the last financial year under distribution of power and energy loss reduction programme. Sources told this agency here on Saturday that the company had achieved a milestone in its 10th year of operations by reducing the transmission and distribution losses to 10.28 percent from 12.17 percent resulting in a saving of millions of rupees during the period.
Those losses were the lowest among all power distribution companies operating in the country, they added. The sources said the company's revenue from sales of power increased from Rs 32.62 billion to Rs 35.4 billion, thus registering an increase of 8.5 percent in absolute terms. As many as 107,345 new connections were provided to the customers during the said period, they said.
