The Hub Power Company (Hubco) organised its first free eye clinic of the year at Jam Ghulam Qadir Civil Hospital, Hub Chowkhi to facilitate eye examination and eye surgery. The clinic, which stretched over three full days from January 20, was conducted by the Al-Ibrahim Eye Hospital.
As in free eye clinics for the past few years, the use of high-tech equipment for complete surgery was made. This equipment which was previously donated by Hubco to Al-Ibrahim Eye Hospital includes Operating Microscope (Takagi OM-5), A-Scan, Autoclave and Autokeratometer.
In this free eye clinic, after the examination of patients and their treatment, free medicines were also being provided, all under the supervision of expert doctors. Speaking about Hubco's CSR and the eye clinic, Hubco Chief Executive Javed Mahmood said: "The welfare of the local communities and their healthcare has been of paramount concern to Hubco since its inception.
We have been organising free eye clinics for several years now and every year the scope has been enhanced, both to treat the variety of eye ailments and to offer coverage to more people. It is to be noted that Hubco continues to execute its corporate social responsibility programme with unwavering commitment, even though it is under immense pressure as a result of the over Rs 42 billion owed to it by Wapda.-PR
