Power shortage: PMKM for maintaining already installed hydel, thermal projects
Pakistan Mutthida Kisan Mahaz (PMKM) has claimed that Pakistan's power generation capacity can be increased to meet the power shortage if price of just one Rental Power Project (RPP) is spent on maintenance and improvement of already installed hydel and thermal power projects.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday PMKM Chief Muhammad Ayub Khan Mayo said that by this method Pakistan's industry and agriculture could be brought out of crisis being faced by it.
In his opinion Pakistan's dams and rivers were facing shortage of water due to Indian water aggression and it was part of a conspiracy to deliberately deprive Pakistan from hydel power projects. He alleged that Pakistan government was not giving attention to develop hydel power projects because power generated from it cost less while the country would also not have to pay the carbon tax to 'Green House Gases' a financial wing of the US government.
