KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement former leader Saleem Shehzad on Monday said that the Muhajirs population is 60 per cent in Sindh but they have only 28 per cent representation in the provincial assembly and zero per cent in the government.
While addressing a press conference with Muhajir Ittehad Tehreek (MIT) Chairman Dr. Saleem Hyder at Karachi Press Club, Shehzad stated that despite having majority in the province, Muhajirs face several problems and were deprived of their rights, wanting the same to be delivered.
Shehzad said that MIT was struggling since it was struggling to get separate province for Muahjirs, resolve their issues and to eliminate quota system in Sindh, in Sindh.
Everyone knows about present condition of Urban Sindh?s politics. This is the time for all Muhajirs to be united, Saleem said. He said that after the chehlum of Imam Hussain (A.S) and other martyrs of Karabala, the Muhajir Convention? would be called with aim to unite the Muahjirs. We will dismiss declined conspiracies against Muhajirs, he concluded.
