In compliance with directions of the chief minister to dispose off the promotion of Medical Officers, the health department's Promotion Committee (DPC) has recommended promotion of over 300 doctors from BS-17 to BS-18. In this connection, a meeting of DPC held, which gave approval of these promotions.
According to a spokesman of DPC, the cases of Medical Officers selected in 1989 by the Punjab Public Service Commission had been considered. More promotion cases of doctors would be considered in the next meeting of DPC, which was scheduled for the second week of February.
