Police force should rightly be proud of the training standard, which it has received from Army and successfully used in breaking the back of terrorists in Swat and South Waziristan, said Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed, Corps Commander, Strike Corps Mangla here on Thursday.
"This special training being imparted to police force will not only help enhance their professional capabilities but improve their skills to counter the terrorism effectively," Nadeem said on the successful completion of the training by police officials near Kharian.
In line with the directives of COAS, General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, Pakistan Army is imparting special anti-terrorism training to police in all four provinces. Army in the regions is scheduled to train over 1800 policemen from Faisalabad and Sargodha zones. First batch of 276 recruits has completed its four weeks training, on Thursday. Army has employed its specialist instructors, including SSG men, for police training.
The Special anti-terrorism training will go a long way in improving police force, he said. Emphasising the need of a united action from all law enforcement agencies and expressed hope that police jawans would maintain the level of their marksmanship, physical fitness and mental alertness. He stressed close co-operation among all forces to attain the goal of elimination of terrorism from country.
He appreciated the dedication, motivation and commitment shown by police jawans. Corps Commander congratulated all the trainees on successful completion of the training. Earlier, on arrival, a special demonstration of anti-terrorism drill was organised for the dignitaries.
