ICE Canadian canola futures ended slightly lower on Thursday with modest fund selling. Funds seen selling 1,000 contracts. Support from exporter short-covering March dips to fresh 10-day low of $373.80 before recovering. Volume up as index funds roll March positions into May. March down 20 cents to $376.70 per tonne. Volume 9,303 contracts.
May up 10 cents at $383.50. Volume 5,457. March/May spread traded 4,893 times between $5.90 and $6.90, premium May. CBOT March soybeans end up 2-3/4 US cents at US $9.31-3/4 per bushel. The Canadian dollar trading at $1.0655 against the US currency at 2:19 pm CST (2019 GMT), down slightly from Wednesday's close at $1.0647. Light crude oil futures up 22 US cents at US $73.89 per barrel.
