Transport fare raise adds to commuters' woes

Quarrels between the commuters and public transporters are once again on the rise as transporters have increased the fares on their own after the recent surge in the prices of petroleum products in different cities of Southern Punjab, including Multan. Petrol pumps owners stopped the sale of petrol and diesel shortly after the notification by the government, in a bid to increase the prices of the petroleum products.
Transporters started to overcharge the passengers without the permission of government immediately after the rise in the prices of petroleum products. People face difficulty in this situation in their mobility and expressed dissatisfaction and anger against the government, over the decision. People demanded of the government to take notice of the situation and reduce the prices of the products, to provide them relief.
