In Indian Held Kashmir (IHK), pro-freedom leaders and organisations have strongly condemned the killing of a 7th class student, Wamiq Farooq Wani by a police officer on Sunday evening in occupied Srinagar. The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in occupied Srinagar, while condemning the student's killing, termed it a barbaric act, KMS reported.
He expressed concern over the stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops in the occupied territory. Veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, while denouncing the killing, described it a pre-planned conspiracy against the people of Kashmir. He said that Indian troops were using brute force against the innocent Kashmiris to suppress their just struggle. Senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in occupied Srinagar described the killing a barbarous act by the troops.
APHC leaders, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Ghulam Ahmed Mir in their statement said that, on one side, the occupation authorities were claiming zero tolerance of human rights violations while on the other, Indian troops and police personnel were committing worst kind of human rights abuses in the occupied territory.
