Government should take concrete steps to forestall bonded labour and set up educational institutions for them, speakers at a seminar on Tuesday made the call. The seminar was addressed by Tahir Manzoor, Naeem Butt, Chief Executive, "Sudhar", representatives of NGOs, Director Labour Altaf Khan and Director, Human Resources, Labour Department Punjab Saeed Ahmad Awan and others.
Ahmad Awan has said that the children have been forced to bonded labour due to poverty and unemployment in the country. He said that the kids who should have books, pens and school bags were working in the dangerous chemical factories and earning livelihood for their parents.
