A delegation of Pakistan Tanners Association will be visiting Indonesia from February 3-6 to explore business collaboration. The delegation is likely to be led by Gulzar Firoz, Chairman Pakistan Tanners Association and includes prominent exporters of finished leather and leather products.
Meetings of the members of the delegation are being arranged with prominent shoe manufacturers and members of APRISINDO, according to a message received on Wednesday from Embassy of Pakistan, Jakarta.
The Indonesian Association of Tanners and Shoe Manufacturers and the Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry felt that there was a real possibility for making mutually beneficial co-operation in this field, it added. Keeping the priority area, the Embassy had fixed business to business meetings with relevant Indonesian manufacturers for bilateral imports as well as for trilateral business operations, it added.
Indonesia is one of the top five shoe exporters in the world. Presently, it imports glazed leathers, shoe tops, and hides from China, Brazil, and European countries. The volume of Pakistani exports to Indonesia is not all that large and the visit is expected to help augment it.
