Unavailability of funds: SCD postpones programmes

Due to non-release of budgetary allocation to Sindh Culture Department (SCD), the cultural activities in the province came to a complete halt and the department postponed cultural shows and exhibitions due to lack of funds. The department could not receive grant from the government, therefore, decided to postpone scheduled programmes, sources told Business Recorder on Thursday.
Talking to Business Recorder, Director General Culture and Tourism Monis Ayaz Sheikh said the finance department has approved funds of Rs 2.5 million, which would be delivered to the department very soon. He said the department would reschedule its annual programmes.
