Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain observed

Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions was observed in Multan and across South Punjab with religious zeal and fervour. Processions gathered at Markazi Imambargah from adjacent areas including Khuni Burj, Chowk Shaheedan, Sootri-Wat, Haram-gate, Daulat gate, Mumtazabad and different areas of Multan.
After reaching the Imambargah, religious scholars delivered sermons and paid rich tributes to Hazrat Imam (RA). They also highlighted the significance of the day and shed light on the sacrifices rendered by Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in upholding the supremacy of Islam. Later, during the procession hundreds of people observed 'zanjir zani' to commemorate Shuhada-e-Karbala's sacrifice. A large number of people distributed food, milk, soft drinks and water among the mourners.
