Tehrik-i-Insaf, Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Muttahida Muslim Movement Pakistan Sunday staged demonstrations in Multan against the Karachi bomb blasts and condemned the growing incidents of terrorism. The protesters carrying banners raised anti-government and anti-terrorist slogans.
They blocked the main Abdali road in front of Multan Press Club, Shah Rukn-i-Alam Colony and burnt tyres for half an hour to lodge their protest against the blasts. Allama Zameer-ul-Hassan Naqvi, Hafiz Allah Ditta Kashif, Allama Syed Mujahid Abbas Gardezi, Babu Nafees Ahmed Ansari Ex-MPA, Allama Rasheed Arashad Kashmiri, Aamer Mehmood Naqshbandi and Jafria Students Organisation leaders led the rallies.
A heavy contingent of police reached on the spot to control the situation and to cool down the protestors. The protestors strongly condemned terrorism in the country and said that government should take solid action against the terrorists. Fear and panic among people is increasing day-by-day due to such blast incidents throughout the country, particularly in Karachi. They said the government should take the matter seriously.
Traffic remained blocked for half an hour during the rallies. The speakers demanded of the government to probe the terror blast incidents of Karachi. They lambasted the terrorists for killing the innocent people saying terrorists are the enemies of Islam, Pakistan and the innocent people. They urged all religious and political parties to exhibit greater unity to foil the nefarious designs of the terrorists and anti-state elements.
