The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is carrying out extension of the Murghzar Zoo at the cost of Rs 1407.80 million. The extended zoo will spread over an area of 82 acres. Talking to APP, a CDA official said more than 20 species of animals would be accommodated at the zoo, having upkeep and environs conforming to international standards and practices.
According to the CDA project scope, educational and research facilities would be provided at the zoo. Animals enclosures, service roads, visitors pathways, birds aviaries, duck ponds, water supply and sewerage systems, external and internal electrification, hospital, entrance plaza, computerised ticketing system, public address modes, CCTV, information counters, recreational facility and car parking are features of the project.
