The profit after tax of Attock Cement Pakistan Limited has declined to Rs 623.815 million in the half year period ended December 31, 2009 as compared to Rs 720.411 million earned in the corresponding period in 2008. The company's earning per share has decreased to Rs 7.20 in the period under review against Rs 8.32 in the same period a year back.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Wednesday recommended an interim cash dividend for the half year at Rs 1.75 per share ie 17.5 percent. According to the financial results, the company's net sales declined to Rs 3.731 billion against Rs 3.983 billion.
The company's cost of sales stood at Rs 2.642 billion against Rs 2.652 billion. The company's profit before tax declined to Rs 792.379 million in the six months period in 2009 against Rs 933.987 million recorded in the same period in 2008.
