Punjab Fisheries Department arranged a month long training of 'fisheries supervisors' from Gilgit-Baltistan province at its Manawan Fisheries Research and Training Centre. Speaking at the certificate distribution ceremony here on Thursday.
Director General Fisheries Punjab, Dr Muhammad Ayub said that imparting training to officers from other provinces would not only promote the fisheries industry, but also help developing the atmosphere of brotherhood and harmony amongst the people of different provinces.
Dr Muhammad Ayub said that knowing latest farming techniques was a must to get better fish production and that was why free of cost training was imparted not only to Punjab officers, but also to the officers and officials from other provinces. He said that officers from Gilgit-Baltistan were provided artificial breeding of trout fish in different hatcheries of the department so they could guide the fish farmers of their province on latest scientific lines.
