Welcoming the proposed resumption of Indo-Pak talks, in coming days, for the resolution of all long-standing issues between the two countries especially of Kashmir, former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary said only a course of trilateral negotiations including Pakistan, India and Kashmiris could prove fruitful for resolution of Kashmir dispute.
Talking to APP here on Thursday, he said, "Kashmiri people are the main party in the dispute, therefore they should be given representation in the Indo-Pak composite talks." Sultan expressed grave concern over the traditional negative and hostile response by India towards Pakistan's peace initiatives for peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue. The adverse approach of India reflected that India was not sincere for resolving the Kashmir issue, the Kashmiri leader observed.
Barrister Sultan Mahmood urged the world community to take immediate notice of the continued hostile and insincere approach of New Delhi regarding the dispute. He also called for the interference of world community to ensure the early success of the ongoing Pak-India Composite Dialogue.
"India should come out of its narrow mindset and adopt a realistic policy towards Pakistan and Kashmir by ensuring the resumption of the successful comprehensive dialogue with Pakistan to resolve all differences especially the core issue of Kashmir," he added.
Barrister Sultan urged the print and electronic media to bring facts about Kashmir open to the world and inform the world about the atrocities and state terrorism unleashed by Indian troops against the innocent people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He appreciated Pakistan's positive attitude and initiatives taken on different occasions and advised India should also have to make similar gestures.
He called for instant withdrawal of Indian troops from the illegally, illegitimately and unlawfully held part of the dazzling Himalayan State as well as abolition of black draconian laws, release of all political detainees including freedom-loving Kashmiri leaders from various jails of occupied Kashmir and India. The people of Jammu and Kashmir would stick on their principle to stand and unveil India's real atrocious face before the world community, he vowed.
