Chairman Human Rights Movement (HRM) Muhammad Nasir Iqbal Khan, Central Secretary General Muhammad Raza Advocate and General Secretary Punjab Haji Muhammad Saleem have said that the closure of rivers' water by India is an unethical and inhuman act. They questioned that why our rulers were mum on it?
They said that India wanted to suppress and compel Pakistan to set aside from stance on political and ethical support to freedom of Kashmir by closing water but we would foil its evil designs. They expressed these views while addressing a meeting here on Friday. They said that if the leaders of Sindh can raise objection against Punjab, why they can not do so against India on the water dispute between the two countries.
Muhammad Nasir Iqbal Khan while addressing on the occasion said that Pakistan could not tolerate confrontation among the provinces on the water issue, adding that the people of four provinces should jointly raise voice against India's water aggression. He said that if the rulers did not take notice of it, the public opinion about them would change. He said that according to water treaty the Indian government could not close flow of rivers' water towards Pakistan, while both the countries were not in position to start war on it. India should leave persistence and restore Pakistan's water, he added.
