The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) Punjab Region has decided to start evening shift at its Executive Centre at the Defence Housing Society (DHS) from February 15. According to the Nadra spokesman, the decision was taken in view of the public demand and the centre would remain open during second shift from 4.00 pm to 11.00 pm.
The centre that was established on January 25, 2010 provides all processing facilities under the same roof and issuing computerised national identity card and other documents within five to seven days. The Authority is taking various steps to check issuance of fake identity cards and registration certificates, he said and added the Punjab Region is also planning to set up more executive centres in other cities of the province in second phase.
