Karachi Green suffered the frustration of defeat for fielding an ineligible player in the ongoing PFF Youth U-14 Cup and was removed from the "Super Six". Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) punished Hassan Baloch's team for fielding Khair Muhammad who was among the 11 players effected by age assessment/scrutiny x-ray results and were not allowed to appear in the 11th National U-13 Festival of Football at Model Town Football Academy Ground last year.
Karachi Green fielded Khair Muhammad and won the final of PFF Youth U-14 Cup (Karachi Centre) 3-1. Nevertheless, Red's coach Nasir Ismail lodged protest and submitted protest fee/documents to Match Commissioner Khalid Nawaz that ended in favour of Nasir, a PFF spokesman said. According to him, Karachi Green clearly violated Clause 12 of PFF Youth Cup Technical Rules & Regulations that says only players born on or after 1 January 1996 are eligible to play in the competition.
Khair was found guilty of being overage as per the PFF medical cell report. PPF Director Operation Wing Pervaiz Saeed Mir said that any team using an ineligible player would forfeit all games in which that player participated. "PAF is found guilty as per the PFF regulations.
The rules says should a team field an unregistered, suspended or ineligible player, the opposing team will earn victory, three points as well as 3-0 score line. The infringing team may also be referred to Event's Disciplinary Committee for further action," he added.
It is treated as violation/misconduct and the team underwent punishment, said PFF Secretary General Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi (Retd). He said PFF's President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat is member and Chairman of Fifa and AFC Disciplinary Committee respectively and PFF is promoting fair play, discipline and sportsmanship in all 128 districts/7 agencies through affiliated provincial/regional bodies.
