Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that PPP believes in democracy, rule of law and run the institutions according to law but unfortunately some elements are hatching conspiracy against democracy in the country. This he said while addressing a public gathering at Badin here on Sunday.
He said that PPP came into power with the support of poor masses, not through bullet. He said that in democracy, the consensus of people was supreme rather than an individual. He said PPP has always honoured the public opinion and would do the same in future. CM Sindh said the poor people of the country, especially of Sindh had experienced atrocities and sense of deprivation for the last 13 years, but when the elected government of PPP started severing them, the anti democratic elements started hatching conspiracies against the government.
He said that it was an old formula to accept PPP without its leadership.
While referring to the demand made by President PPP District Badin MPA Dr Sikandar Mandhro, he announced that the bill passed by Sindh Assembly for the establishment of Badin Development Authority (BDA) would be implemented accordingly. He said that the development schemes at the cost of Rs500 million have already been launched in Badin to provide basic facilities to the citizen.
Earlier, Home Minister Sindh Dr Zulfiqar Mirza in his speech said that the purpose of gathering was to pay homage to the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto who preferred to sacrifices her life for the poor people of the country rather thaan to surrender to dictators. He said that now the dream of martyrs of Bhutto family to protect the rights of poor people would be completed by the brave workers of PPP with great honour, dignity under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari.
Sindh Minister for Housing Agha Taimore Pathan while addressing the gathering said that PPP government was implementing its slogan of Roti - Kapra Aur Maka.
