The after tax loss of Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) has declined to Rs 1.699 billion in the half year period ended December 31, 2009 as compared to Rs 3.977 billion recorded in the corresponding period in 2008. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Monday declared that the company's per share loss stood at Rs 48.57 in the period under review against Rs 113.63 in the same period a year back.
According to the financial results, the company's sales declined to Rs 48.317 billion in this period against Rs 56.712 billion in the same period in 2008. The company paid Rs 9.372 billion as sales tax, excise duty and development levy in against Rs 9.044 billion paid in the same account previously. The company's before tax loss was recorded at Rs 1.055 billion in the half-year period in 2009 against Rs 5.819 billion witnessed in the same period in 2008.
