A scorching century by Haji Shahid Anwar pushed Sayid Paper Mills (SPM) stags to authoritative 146 run win over Hamdard Karachi Veterans Touring Cricket Team at Railway Stadium, here on Monday. SPM Stags made 304-4 in 30 overs with Shahid Anwar making 139 with 17 boundaries. Asad Iqbal who scored 82 supported him, Tauseef Mughal 38, Rafaqat Ali 21 not out and Fayyaz Hyder 10 not out.
Anis Ahmed took 2-67 was the only successful bowler. Hamdard Karachi could only consumed 29.1 overs, registering only 158. Muhammad Nasir 38, Muhammad Ashraf 27 and Muhammad Sadiq 22 were main scorers. Saeed Khan 2-19 and Yaar Muhammad 2-13 were the main bowlers. Waleed Yaqub and Muhammad Shafiq were the umpires. Later, the chief guest Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed presented man of the match award to Shahid Anwar in presence of well-known cricket promoter Aizad Sayid, Ashiq Qureshi and Ali Zia.
