The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) in collaboration with American College of Surgeons organised ATLS Course here Friday. Professor Christopher, Chairman, American College of Surgeons and Professor John Cart Beck, Chairman of Trauma Committee conducted the first course of the country in Karachi.
In Pakistan, under the supervision of Professor Zafarullah Chaudhry, President CPSP, Professor Mahmood Ayyaz, Course Director, Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, Regional Director and Professor Amer Aziz, the senior instructors of American College of Surgeons are conducting the course through which 15 specialist doctors from across the province are being trained.
Pakistan is the only country, which is organising this international trauma course under the auspices of American College of Surgeons in this region, a spokesman of the CPSP said. According to him, there will be a reasonable reduction in accidental ailments and disabilities after the doctors are trained through this international course. The CPSP has trained 130 trainee doctors and 30 instructors in Karachi through the course.
