Deputy Consul General of Consulate General Japan Toshikazu Ismoura Saturday visited the Area Study Centre Far East and South East Asia, University of Sindh. He met with the Vice Chancellor of the varsity Professor Dr Nazir A Mughal and discussed the academic and research programmes ongoing in the varsity and also briefed about the educational programmes by the government of Japan.
Ismoura briefed the Vice Chancellor about the scholarships for the faculty members and students and informed that their government has been awarding scholarships to the faculty members in the research area and students for their higher education of the Area Study Centre.
He also pledged to donate books for the library of the centre and said that the centre has established a very excellent library with the collection of rare books. The guest also visited the Area Study centre and held a meeting with Director of the Centre Professor Dr Parveen Shah, Dr Lutfullah Mangi and faculty members there. The Guest also visited the Institute of Sindhology and lauded its work for the promotion and preservation of history and culture of Sindh.
