3G, 4G services to be launched

GILGIT: The Sector Commander of the SCO (Special Communication Organization) Gilgit-Baltistan Col. Adeel Sabir Khan Saturday said that 3G, 4G services will be launched after getting approval of the Government of Pakistan.
Talking to media here he said priority of SCO is to ensure cellular connectivity along the KKH from Gilgit Baltistan to Rawalpindi. 80 percent work on the Optical Fiber Project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPECP) has been completed from Khunjerab to Babusar Top, he informed.
He said Babusar and Khunjerab Passes will get cellular coverage in 20-25 days.
Telecommunication and internet services will be provided at Khunjerab pass during the jeep rally being planned on 21 October from Khujerab to Gwadar, he added.
