A Malaysian company has shown interest in launching low cost housing schemes, deployment of WiMax and introducing waste water treatment facilities in Pakistan. A six-member delegation of Malaysian company Renexus is currently in Lahore to hold meetings with the Provincial Secretaries of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Public Health Service, Information Technology, and Local Government in Lahore.
Commercial Counsellor for Pakistan in Malaysia Wajiullah Kundi said the Renexus is interested in constructing initially 20,000 housing units each in eight districts of Punjab including, Lahore, Multan, Bhawalpur, Faisalabad, Sarghoda, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi and Sialkot to over come acute shortage of five million housing units with an annual incremental demand of 700,000 in Punjab.
Kundi said the Renexus is also scheduled to hold negotiation with Secretary, Information Technology of Punjab, to introduce WiMax Technology, a highest Bandwidth internet service without needing an expensive support infrastructure and can be deployed in a shorter time than competing technologies.
WiMax is a solution that is affordable and accessible to all layers of society and would also help government to improve the efficiency and output of its healthcare, banking, education, E-commerce and communication sectors, he added.
Kundi said the delegation during its stay in Pakistan will also negotiate with the Local Government of Punjab to introduce Clean Compact Water Treatment Systems, a self contained, compact and high performance precision based system with reduced cost and low cost of maintenance to help the government to come the shortage of potable water.
He said the delegation, during its stay in Pakistan also visited Expo-Pakistan-2010 in Karachi and interacted with Pakistani businessmen, suppliers and representatives of relevant industries for business networking and building business relationships with its Pakistani counterparts.
The delegation of Renexus includes Pir Saad Ahsanuddin, CEO/Vice Chairman, Fazal Abbas Mekan, COO, Moazzam Hussain, GM Projects Development, Dr Sajid Yoosufani, GM Facilitation, Saadiya Saadat, GM International Marketing Omer Khan, Sector Head Projects Development.
The Renexus Group is a progressive, multi-disciplinary provider of premier projects dealing in Malaysia and oversees in Property Development and Construction, Biotechnology, Environmental Solutions and Information and Communication Technology and is capable of comprehensively managing and co-ordinating both small and large scale projects, from project development to after sales and services.
