Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) has arranged a one-week training course on "Gem Identification" at the Gems Exchange, Peshawar. The course that started on Monday will run until March 7, 2010 in which 10 participants from the industry will be trained. This programme will be conducted in Pashto/Urdu languages for the Namak Mandi traders to cater to their professional needs.
The individuals will be trained in basic concepts in gem identification and will be exposed to the latest techniques and methods in identifying gems. The PGJDC emphasises on the smooth flow of educational training and hence is conducting a training course in the local language, which would prove to be convenient for the traders. The purpose of this training program is to provide the gems & jewellery sector of Pakistan with the skills and knowledge of gemstone identification.
