The Japan Cultural Centre of the Consulate General of Japan, Karachi held the Japanese Girls' Day Lecture co-organised with WAVE (War against Violation Education), an educational NGO, on Wednesday at Japan Cultural Centre. In Japan, on March 3, the Girls' Day Festival is celebrated while displaying beautiful dolls "Hina Ningyo".
Mr Ryo Ishikawa, Director of the Japan Cultural Centre, delivered an elaborate lecture in Urdu to Pakistani Girl students about the history and cultural importance of the Japanese Girls' Day Festival, known as "Hina Matsuri" in particular and the role of dolls in Japanese culture in general. In addition to a full set of Girls' Day dolls, "Hina Ningyo", many kinds of 25 other dolls were also displayed, making it a colorful and interesting event.-PR
