Political activists of different political parties of the district Swat have joined hands with non-political National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in struggle against corruption, lawlessness and poor law and order situation. The announcement in this regard was made in a meeting held at the residence of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader and former provincial minister, Dost Mohammad Khan in Matta, district Swat.
Those addressed the meeting were included former federal minister, Nawabzada Khawaja Mohammad Khan Hoti, Dost Mohammad, ex. District Nazim, Charsadda, Naseer Mohammad Khan and Liaquat Khan. A large number of political activists affiliating with different political parties and former nazims of the various union councils of district Swat attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, former federal minister and Member of the National Assembly, (MNA) Khawaja Mohammad Khan Hoti paid glowing tributes to Pakistan army for carrying a successful operation for restoration of peace in the district. However, he criticised the bad treatment accorded by the government's functionaries to the displaced families from the area. He called for initiating action against elements involved in the loot and plunder in the name of provision of assistance to the IDPs.
He maintained that some individuals and officials instead of providing relief utilise the situation for making money. He particularly spoke of the hospitality extended by the people of Mardan to the displaced families. He said that the people of Mardan besides opening their houses and Hujras have also opened their hearts for the displaced families and wrote a new history of hospitality.
Pledged that the people of Malakand division would be never left alone at this critical juncture. The meeting unanimously decided to hold a convention of the workers of all political parties at the level of district Swat and vowed to raise voice against corruption, malpractices and injustices.
