With a view to explore the possibility of entering into partnership with medical institutions of the Pakistan, a two-member delegation of Saudi health ministry visited the University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Wednesday. The delegation was headed by Qasim Ali Qahtani, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia.
The delegation is visiting Pakistan to enhance bilateral ties between the two countries and ensuring continuous provision of specialists to various institutions in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and individual professionals on rotation basis for a period extending up to six months.
The Saudi delegation also called on UHS acting Vice- Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Tahir. UHS Registrar Dr Asad Zaheer and officials from Punjab Health Department were also present on the occasion. Qasim Ali Qahtani said that Saudi authorities would be willing to sponsor training of Pakistani doctors in oncology, pulmonology and other fields with the condition that these candidates on completion of training would be required to serve in Saudi Arabia for a mandatory period, to be decided through mutual agreement.
