PCB names Amir’s replacement
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named Usman Khan Shinwari as the replacement of injured Mohammad Amir, who ruled out from the One Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka.
As per details, the official announcement from the board came on Monday.
The star pacer suffered a stress injury on right shin during the ongoing Test match against Sri Lanka.
Amir, on Saturday (October 7), was taken for an MRI scan after limping off the field during the second day's play in the second Test against Sri Lanka in Dubai.
Amir had hurt his right shin during the opening day's play of the day-night Test and returned to the dressing room for treatment after bowling just three deliveries of his 17th over.
He bowled two overs on Day 2 but left the field again feeling uncomfortable, before being taken to hospital.
The scan showed the extent of his injury and subsequently it was decided that he would not bowl any further in the ongoing Test, but will bat, if required.
The pacer has been advised two to three weeks of rest.
