NA-123: LHC directs SSP to provide security to candidate

Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Wednesday directed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Lahore to provide security to Nighat Khan, an independent candidate for election in NA-123. The LHC issued these orders in a petition filed by Ms Khan seeking security after. According to her, she received threatening calls and feeling insecure.
She said some one could shoot her to stop her from participating in the election. Supporters of her opponent candidates at several times had torn down her banners, stickers and signboards to sabotage her election campaign. She, therefore, prayed to the court to direct the city police to provide her security so that she could contest the elections freely.
