Derailment of goods train: Railway's damaged track still not usable

The railway's down track damaged on Tuesday due to derailment of a goods train is still non functional and the railway engineering staff was struggling to make it functional as soon as possible. On emergency basis the up-track was managed to pass trains stranded at Nawabshah, Sarhari and Shahdadpur stations for up-country.
The other hand the bogies of derailed goods train have not yet been removed and are still lying on the spot while the relief activity has been shifted from up track to the down track. Railway Engineer Ghulam Qadir Mahesar said that maintenance staff of Sukkur Division has been called in to expedite repair work. He said that the down track would be made functional in 24 to 36 hours.
