The Chief Controller of Buildings, Manzoor Kadir has directed the KBCA officials to approve the building plans phase-wise to eliminate violative constructions. He particularly called for continuous monitoring of ongoing constructions to discourage and control the constructions causing defacing of the city and said in case of illegalities immediate and effective action would be taken against concerned persons.
Chairing a meeting of KBCA officials on Saturday, the CCOB directed in case of multi-storeyed buildings or plaza projects, the plans be approved phase wise as per system in vogue. He explained that in the first phase approval be given for ground plus first floor plan and after issuing completion certificate thereof, plan approval be given for second and upper floors.
CCOB made it clear that construction of flat or units on residential plot will not be tolerated. He strictly directed the officials and staff that all constructions raised in violation of plan, particularly construction of flats or units on residential plot, should be demolished right at the plinth stage.
During constructions, he asked Town Building Controllers to maintain full vigil on constructions and immediately register FIR against concerned persons in case of any tampering of the plan or violation of land use of amenity plots while licences of concerned architect and structure engineer be cancelled forthwith.
He pointed out that in case of negative report, the concerned Town Building Officer will be held responsible and strict departmental action will be taken against him. The meeting was attended by all the Controllers and Town Building Control Officers.
